  • Raid rules for Omen  |  Friday, April 17, 2009 - 6:35 AM
Invites for Raids will normally start at 19:30-45 Game Time for a 20:00 start. Raids will usually last for 4 hours till 00:00 Game Time.
However on special occasions it might be required to extend the Raid by 15 - 30 minuttes, this will only happen however if the majority of the raid agrees to this. Attendance dkp will be awarded for the full duration of the Raid.

Joining a Raid indicates your ability to Raid for the whole 4 hours. If you cannot Raid for the whole 4 hours you cannot join the Raid or be on Standby. Those that cannot stay for the whole duration should notify their CO (or any Officer if CO not online) and explain their circumstance for the evening and Officers will decide on the best course of action to take. In most cases this will be nothing as being in a Raiding Guild we are here to Raid for 4 hours on our Raiding nights. In some cases people will be added to the Raid for the duration of their availability as they would be an asset to the Raid and replaced in due course when they have to leave.

When Raiding the only applications running on your PC should be WoW and Ventrilo. It is advised and would be appreciated that no other applications will be running concurrently with the 2 already mentioned as no matter how small they will affect your performance or the performance of your PC no matter how good it is. I appreciate the fact that some people like to listen to music while Raiding. As long as it is in the bacground and not so loud that you cannot hear Ventrilo then that should not be a problem. If it is too loud then you cannot be listening to Ventrilo which negates the fact that you are logged on it in the first place. Ventrilo is there to relay information by voice quickly and effectively and as such is an essential tool for all Raiders. While a Microphone is desirable it is not mandatory for certain individuals. However, being on Ventrilo while Raiding is mandatory. Those not on Ventrilo will be replaced immediately.

Being on Ventrilo does not mean that you have to let everyone hear your voice or your views or your opinions every 30 seconds. The only people that should be heard on a regular basis are Officers and the Raid Leader. Discussion of Tactics on Vent is not allowed as all this does is waste time and confuse people that are highly confused to begin with. The only exception to this Rule is when you have been asked for an opinion by an Officer. Any views that anyone has should be whispered to your CO or the Raid Leader as Officers do discuss these matters in Officer Channel during Raids and relay any changes as and when it is needed. The forums are the perfect place to discuss and share opinions and views with the rest of the Guild but not during Raid time. As already stated, Ventrilo is there to relay important information quickly during encounters.

Those that have to leave early, and have previously notified their CO that they would be leaving earlier than usual, will receive DKP only for the time spent in Raid. Those that leave early, and have not previously informed Officers of their early departure, for any reason whatsoever will not receive any DKP for the whole night no matter how long they Raided till their departure.

25 people are selected for the Raid which will leave some people on Standby. You cannot choose or even ask to be on Standby as, by definition, your joining the Raid at the beginning you have already indicated your ability and willingness to Raid for 4 hours and not to be on Standy for 4 hours or any part of the 4 hours.

We select 25 people to form the Raid for each specific encounter and may switch things around for any subsequent encounter. Therefore, those on Standby should be able to jump in at very short notice if and when they are needed.

We are a Raiding Guild - that means you and 24 other people in the Raid depend and rely on each other to make things run as smoothly as possible in order to kill these Bosses that lie ahead of us each and every night we Raid. If you are not up for it for whatever reason then do not join the Raid and at best upset or at worst infuriate your  fellow Raiders.

If people disconect during a raid and for some reason cannot reconect, it is strongly advised that they imediatly post it on the form under the Raid sign down topic. It is unacceptible to let your fellow Raiders wait needlessly. Faillure to post an explanation in the time the Raid is active, will result in a warning, if it happens repeatedly, it should be expected, to recieve a ban for the next signed Raid.

I am all for people having fun or having a laugh during Raids but when Focus and Concentration are needed I expect 100% from everyone at all times. Those unable to fulfil these pretty basic requirements will find their Raiding experiences severely curtailed and in the worst case scenario completely terminated.

  • Regarding loot distribution  |  Friday, April 17, 2009 - 7:22 AM
Loot in all 25 mans and 10 mann progression Raids will fall under the dkp rule.

This means that if you are interested in a mainspec item, you have to /w the masterlooter: "Interest  XXXDKP (my current dkp ammount )"

Do not roll in the raidchat when mainspec is offered.

If nobody bids on mainspec, the masterlooter will call for offspec rolls. Only then you can roll for offspec.

Offspec items will not cost dkp but instead they cost 2 dreamshards, that need to be put in the guildbanks first tab on the same night the raid ended. Failure to deposit these 2 dreamshards will result in a full payment of mainspec dkp for the item. So please remember to deposit them.

On Raids that are on farm, all members can roll on items once the masterlooter calls for rolls. the highest roll wins the item.

People that have not signed up and registered on the dkp site are not entitled  to earn dkp, we do not want to spend hours of manually adding players and adjusting dkp and drops. It is your duty to be registered on the dkp site if you expect to earn dkp. The guild cannot be held responsable for any dkp that is lost this way.

Trial members can /w for mainspec loot too, however the priority will always be as follows: Raider > Member > Trial > Social/Alt
And during one Raid a Trial member can only loot 1x item. Furthermore Trial members are not allowed to go below -100 Dkp.

We are not interested in gearing up trial members who plan to leave the guild as soon as we have geared them up. This is to ensure that the guild will always be at full raid capacity. However we are also a fair guild, and if you help kill a boss it does not mean trial can not loot at all.

Furthermore all Items of the quality green/blue/BoE Epic will be sent to the Guildbank for either DE or to be available to the guild. Disenchanted items will also go to the guildbank. This is to ensure that the guildbank will always be able to sponsor enchants for mainspec items.

Items bought for dkp will not be able to refund dkp once you recieved the item, however, if you decide that the item is not really an upgrade after all, you can ask members of the same raid if anyone would want it, if so, you have to write a ticket to a GM to have the item transferred to that player who is/was in the raid at the time the item was looted. You have to do this in the same night of the raid however. Once the transaction is complete you and the recieving member will have to /w the raidleader, who will then make a readjustment on dkp. Note: This is the only way you can have dkp refunded.

The loot priority will always be the following, and cannot be discussed:

Guildleader/Officer/classleader/Raider > member/Officer alt > Trial > Social/Alt

In some cases some officers that for obvious reasons always attend raids, can join with their alts to adjust to a needed raidsetup, in these cases the priority will be as follows:

Guildleader/Officer/Classleader/Raider > member/officer alt > Trial > Social/alt

Alts earn and pay DKP just like anyone else. This can not be discussed.

This will only apply in rare exceptions as it is our policy that alts are generally not allowed on Progression Raids, and only to seccure a needed setup that is essential for the Raid.

On Raids that are on farm, anybody can join with his/her alt as long as the setup is realistic to have a succesfull raid.

  • Concerning Pugs  |  Friday, April 17, 2009 - 9:04 AM
Be aware that it is not allowed to pug Raids that are on the planner.
The only Raids that currently are allowed to be pugged are: all pre Wotlk, Naxx10, Malygos10, OS10, Voa10 and VoA25

The first time any member apart from social/alt/officer alt will be seen participating in a blacklisted pug, he/she will recieve a final warning and a penalty decided by the officers. The second time will result in an imediate guild kick.

We expect and require our members to be available for the guilds Raids at all times. Because of that it will not be tollerated if anyone would decide to pug a blacklisted pug. We are a raid guild, and thus we need to enforce certain rules to make sure that the guild is always operational to raid.

New members that join can on the resettimer they joined complete raids in progress however. But only for the duration of that reset timer, and it is not allowed to join a new pug that is blacklisted,

Social members and alts however are free to pug all content. However if we need a member on his maincharacter while we are on a progressionraid, and he/she at that time is in a pug, we might ask that player to leave the raid and join the guilds progression raid on his/her main.

  • Concerning Disciplin during Raids  |  Wednesday, April 22, 2009 - 8:34 AM
It has come to our attention that the disciplin during raids is sometimes not as required.

In order to get the best possible Raiding experience including progress, it is very important that the Raid will allways stay focused and maintain order. This includes several points.

1. Nobody is at any time allowed to move infront of the tanks, unless told so by either the Raidleader or his assistants.

2. Nobody decides when and what to pull, apart from the Raidleader and his assistants.

3. During loot People will wait in the loot area for further instructions. After looting is done The Raidleader will give orders to continue. Noone else.

4. Nobody other than the Raidleader can and will decide when we hold a 5 minute break. People who go afk for 5 minutes without being allowed to will have to face getting replaced.

5. The Raid starts the moment you get invited to the raid. This is the moment you start earn hourly dkp. The Raid ends when the Raidleader says it does. Anyone who leaves a raid without notifying the raidleader or any officer or classleader about it will face a penalty for 1 Raid.
If this repeats over a number of Raids your rank or even presence in the guild will be discussed.

6. During tactics review, loot distribution and bossfights you should keep chat and vent traffic to an absolute minimum. Only the Raidleader and his assistants should speak on vent during Bossfights.

7. While you are participating in a scheduled Raid it is expected of you that you keep your focus on the Raid. repeated overagroing, bodypulling and not following the Raidleaders orders will ultimately result in getting replaced.

Omen is not a Hardcore Raiding guild and it is supposed to be fun when we raid.
However many of us spend a lot of time preparing for raids, and working hard for progress. It can be very frustrating when people either dont listen, come unprepared, or are unfocussed for whatever reason. In respect of your fellow guildies these sets of rules are here to make sure that everybody can have a good time while still achieving progress. Staying in the Raid from start to end is equally important as every time we need to replace someone in the raid, 15 minuttes can easily be gone before we are done. Every silly whipe on trash can also easily take 15 minuttes of our time. These things all can make the difference of wether you have a good raiding experience or not.
